Life ~ Chaos

The world is full of chaos....Infact Ma Durga the various manifestations of whose idol we worship her in Calcutta is also a form of chaos..

A good form of chaos though which signifies the victory of good over evil..

It portrays the battle between Mahishasura a powerful asura who overlooks the possibility that a woman should be able to slay him and Ma Durga,the power behind work of creation, preservation, and destruction of the world who slays him carrying with her 10 weapons,riding a ferocious lion...

It also signifies forgiveness as before dying the Asura worshiped Goddess Durga and Ma granted him a boon that he will be worshiped with her till end of time..So whenever we see Devi durga being worshiped we also see Mahishasura is standing under her feet pierced by the trident at his chest...

I know I am too small and ignorant to be preaching about these godly things at present but Ma Durga has always been like this old confidante who i used to share my dreams and disappointments with when i was small and even say "hi!" to sometimes...

And today when somebody(who's an accomplished surgeon!) who's told me that "Ma Durga ekta ashur k maarche haathe shob debotader er theke neya 10ta astro niye mane ki..eto guno debota ke lagche ekta ashuri shakti ke haranor jonno..tale jor kaar bol kar?"

"Ma Durga slays the Asura with help from so many gods taking various weapons from him and the Trishul from her husband..What does this mean one woman killing an asura but with the help from so many gods..So what does this prove,who's stronger?"

I know he was just putting across his (read,absurd..) point and not demeaning her(because obviously who would!) but its just that the typical Indian man(driven by his male ego) would rather believe in the evil,the ignorant than in accepting women to be at par with men...

I remember i had this Biology teacher who had once told us that a patriarchal society is really necessary because men are smarter than women...
Just because an area of the brain called the inferior-parietal lobule (IPL) is typically larger in men,as compared to women it doesn't make them more smarter(just better in mathematics!)...

The belief that men are superior over all women simply because they are men is not logical, it's not wise, and it doesn't bear out in real life.
I had always wondered why we don't have women super heroes the ones which fly around and save the world possessing powers like telekinesis or the acid synthesis or invisibility or absolutely anything but maybe in a world like ours a hero figure is rather a male figure...
