I have a dream...A fantasy...

We dream...
We set a time limit for our dreams...
We struggle and strive to fulfill them...
Some dreams come true and some remain as dreams...
Now if it comes true you're fortunate its something you've fought for...
But what if you don't make it...
Either you accept it and move on being satisfied that you tried or you try again and again...

Since the last year I've come across many people belonging to the second category  those who would fight for their dreams and struggle to make it happen...Students who would travel long distances in buses and then metro and then walk to the Medical/Engineering coaching institute,
Some students who would stay far away from their homes in a PG or mess close to their Coaching institute because they couldn't make it the year before...

Students who preferred struggle rather than compromising their dreams...
Year after year students drop out just to give their dreams another chance just to study Medicine,or to get through an IIT or NIT or whatever...

Some make it,some don't...
Students suicide rates increases every year in India...
Everyday when we read or hear about these cases we wonder why people take up their lives so easily..
But we forget the fact that the fault lies within us...Each and every system in our country is becoming so corrupt...Medical and engineering seats in private are sold for high prices, and their entrance exams are nothing but a mere show...
I had given an entrance exam in a reputed private medical college in Kolkata perhaps the only one we have, but then realized that it was absolutely worthless sitting for the exam, middlemen could be found in the gate of the college who promised a seat in that college by paying 50-70 lakhs as donation...
The entrance exam was just for display the whole game had been fixed much before and it involved huge amounts of money... It was funny however that students and their parents were ready to pay such huge amounts of money to such cheats and buy their children their dream...
But then did they have any option, medical seats are scarce and the private colleges most of them just understand money...
Students pay huge amount of money as donation to study Btech,MBBS and MBA in colleges, and those students who secure an average rank and are unable to afford the donation either dropout or are forced to give up their dream of becoming a Dr,Engineer or MBA...
And the prevailing  reservation system in India and the rising competition each year many deserving candidates become frustrated with this insecurity and uncertainty...
Most of them have to give up there dreams and choose a different course...
Some still don't get through...

You need to be brave to dream and more brave to hold on to it...To live it...
And then again to free our self from it,to let go of it before it engulfs you...
You need to know when to stop dreaming...

    1. Hmmm...
Its difficult to let go of your dreams even if its just bits and pieces of a shattered dream...
But sometimes its best to pick up the bits and pieces and move on...
